Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Mise at Home ("App") is operated by Fin-Free C. Corp. ("we," "us," "our," "Company"). We're committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada and applicable US state privacy laws.

2. What Information We Collect

When you use Mise at Home, we collect the following personal information:

Account Information

• Name
• Email address
• Preferred country (Canada or US)

Waitlist

• Email address, if you join the launch waitlist on our website. We use it to tell you when the app is available, and to see whether people on the waitlist went on to create an account or subscribe.

Health & Preference Data

• Dietary preferences
• Allergies
• Nutritional goals
• Any health or wellness information you provide

Content You Upload

• Photos of your fridge, taken with your camera or chosen from your gallery. Each photo is sent to our AI provider to identify ingredients and is not saved on our servers. We keep only the resulting list of ingredients.
• Grocery lists and recipes you create or save
• Voice commands for Cook Mode (processed in real-time, not recorded or stored)
• Questions you type to Ask Chef

Purchases

• Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of what you bought and your token balance. We never receive your card or payment details.

App Interaction Data

• Features you use
• Search queries
• Time spent in the app
• Crash reports and diagnostic information about your device and app version, used to find and fix errors

Authentication

• When you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your Google email and basic profile information

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Generate personalized recipes based on your fridge contents, allergies, and dietary preferences
• Enable Cook Mode voice commands
• Improve app features and performance
• Communicate with you about your account or App updates
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Who We Share Your Data With

Your data is shared with the following third parties to provide the App's core features:

AI & Recipe Generation Providers

• Anthropic (Claude): receives your fridge photos, ingredient lists, dietary preferences, allergies, and Ask Chef questions in order to identify ingredients and write recipes, tips, and answers
• Google (Gemini): receives recipe and technique descriptions in order to generate food images

We send these providers only what is needed for the feature you are using. We do not send them your name or email address.

Important: These LLM providers may use your data to train and improve their models. We do not control how they handle your data beyond our requests for recipe generation. By using Mise at Home, you consent to this data sharing and LLM training.

Authentication

• Google OAuth (for sign-in only)

Payments

• Google Play (processes subscriptions and in-app purchases)

Crash Reporting

• Sentry (receives crash reports and diagnostic information)

User-Initiated Sharing

When you share a recipe or export a grocery list, you control where that data goes (email, social media, etc.). We do not host, store, or monitor shared content.

We do not sell your data to third parties for marketing or other commercial purposes.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Account data (name, email, dietary preferences, allergies): Retained indefinitely until you request deletion.
• Fridge photos: Not stored. Processed in real-time for recipe generation, then deleted immediately.
• Voice recordings: Not stored. Processed in real-time for Cook Mode commands only.
• Recipes and grocery lists: Retained until you delete them or request account deletion.
• Waitlist email addresses: Retained until the app launches and we have notified you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
• Purchase records: Retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires (six years in Canada), including after account deletion.

Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time, without needing the app installed. Follow the steps on our account deletion page or contact support@misekitchen.ca. We will process your request within 30 days.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Under PIPEDA (Canada) and applicable US state laws, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt-out: Where applicable, opt out of non-essential communications

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data during transmission and storage. However, no online platform is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep the Google account you sign in with secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Mise at Home is not intended for children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we become aware that we've collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

Mise at Home may link to third-party services (e.g., recipe databases, nutrition apps). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before sharing information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
